Female-only policy

Goldex Fitness is a women-only fitness facility. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and empowering space where women can focus on their health and wellbeing in a supportive and respectful environment. This policy outlines who can join our gym and how we comply with the Equality Act 2010.

1. Single-Sex Service Provision

In accordance with Schedule 3,Part 7 of the Equality Act 2010, we provide services to women only. This is a lawful single-sex service established to achieve a legitimate aim, including:

·        Promoting privacy, dignity, and comfort

·        Encouraging participation in physical activity by women who may not otherwise attend mixed-sex gyms

·        Meeting the needs of women from religious or cultural backgrounds

·        Providing a space where women feel safe and respected

2. Eligibility for Membership

Membership is open to individuals who:

·        Identify and live as women, including trans women who present as female in everyday life.

·        Are comfortable participating in a female-only environment.

We welcome all women regardless of background, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or ability.

3. Trans Inclusion Policy

We are committed to treating all members with respect, dignity, and fairness. We welcome trans women who:

·        Identify and live as women

·        Respect the single-sex nature of the space

If a trans woman holds a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC), she is legally recognised as female under the Equality Act and will be treated as such.

Where specific concerns arise(e.g. safety or privacy of other members), we reserve the right to consider requests or complaints on a case-by-case basis, ensuring any action is an approportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim in line with the Equality Act.

4. Privacy and Respect

All members are expected to:

·        Respect the privacy and dignity of others

·        Refrain from behaviour that causes discomfort or intimidation

·        Abide by gym rules and codes of conduct

5. Providing Information

We may ask prospective or current members at any time to declare that they identify and live as women as part of the membership process. This information will be handled confidentially and in accordance with UK data protection laws.

6. Complaints and Concerns

We take concerns seriously. If any member feels uncomfortable or has a question regarding this policy, they are encouraged to speak confidentially with management or emailadmin@goldexfitness.com. We will handle all matters sensitively and without discrimination.

7. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure it remains compliant with the law and reflects the values and needs of our members.
